Public bug reported:
MB is EVGA with onboard NVidia sound and hdmi output that precluded
sound when used HDMI connection in Hardy, Intrepid and Karmic. Current
HDMI connection via ATI All-in-Wonder HD card. Both audio devices show
in lscpi (below) and asoundconf list, but not in aplay -l or -L (which
both have many lines about unexpected end of file, asoundrc being old or
corrupt, hook error etc). No devices listed under Lucid's
System/Preferences/Sound. Contents of etc/asound.conf just list pulse.
This is a dual boot machine and sound does work in the Vista boot.
