You need to have hplip-gui installed and configure your multifunction
printer with the HPLIP Toolbox in System > Preferences.
I just tested this and works for me using an HP 3055.
What do you see under Document > Preferences > Scan source ? Your output
seems to indicate your scanner hasn't been configured with HPLIP in
Lucid and only a local device (a camera, apparently) is being detected.
