Good comment from bug #60722, worth copying here: ceg (ceg: 2903) wrote on 2008-07-29: #4
You can make your fat filesystem permissions look like matching to your default umask. Mount options: for umask 002: dmask=002,fmask=113 for umask 022: dmask=022,fmask=133 (do not use the unspecific umask option) As a workaround adjust your personal hal vfat mount options in the gconf-editor, but the defaults need to be dealt with by ubuntu. Other usefull mount options can be found on: http://bugs.debian.org/344278 ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #344278 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=344278 ** Also affects: hal (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: hal (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Also affects: udev (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: udev (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed -- nautilus wants to execute all text files on vfat and ntfs drives https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/14335 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
