Sorry - I just noticed that my issue is not only a anacron problem.
I have since over 10 years an /etc/crontab adjusted to run
cron.{daily,weekly,monthly} at @{daily,weekly,monthly}.
This was breaks by the use of anacron and the debian/ubuntu
/etc/cron.d/anachron file starting anacron at 07:30 am.
The problem was becoming visible after installing the ubuntu-desktop
package on a server machine breaking the modified /etc/crontab by the
installed anacron package (via dependency).
In my opinion it would be more understandable to change /etc/crontab and
/etc/cron.d/anacron to run cron.{daily,weekly,monthly} at
@{daily,weekly,monthly}.
