Yes, I can confirm this bug, although the weird repositioning in some
corner of the screen does not occur in my case. The slider DOES,
however, function properly if I first click on the icon, which opens the
slider, and then right-click, opening the panel menu, followed by
another right click that closes the panel menu again. After this, the
slider works as expected and does not disappear if you click on it.

It seems to be a problem with the focus gaining of the slider's window,
which is corrected by opening and closing the panel menu over it. It
might even be a bug in the window manager, which controls (a part of)
the focus. I'm using the metacity window manager, perhaps others that
use other window managers such as compiz are not affected by this bug?
