A few notes: - This bug also affects the Eee PC 1201N - As of Lucid there is no need to install the ALSA backports. This may be true of Karmic too as some people report above - I haven't tried. - Santiago's comment #48 above describes what seems a very likely cause for this bug. Is there any way of hacking ALSA or pulseaudio to make them aware of the fact that the purpose of the second mic channel is to cancel noise, not to build a stereo signal?
