Thanks for the report, this is most likely a kernel bug but to be sure,
I'd appreciate it if you could do a little debugging.
Reboot without the drive plugged in, then before plugging the drive in,
run "sudo udevadm monitor -e" (this will stay running).
Now plug in the drive, attach any output from that running command.
Run "sudo dmesg", attach the output.
