Binary package hint: gdm
On several occasions, I have started my computer to find that the login
box in GDM either does not appear for a long time, and when it does, it
is often positioned at the top right of the screen rather than in the
centre. On one occasions, GDM also appeared at a very low resolution,
meaning it's login elements were large and didn't look very appealing.
