Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and help to improve Ubuntu.
grub2 is the package used as the bootloader in 10.04; reassigning to this package. However, the lack of a message at boot time is deliberate; and the escape key doesn't work because this is no longer the key used for the menu. To reach the boot menu, you need to hold down the Shift key during boot instead. Please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Grub2#GRUB%20vs%20GRUB%202 for more information about this change. ** Package changed: grub (Ubuntu) => grub2 (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: grub2 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Won't Fix -- grub does not display ESC waiting message to invoke recovery console https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/569820 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
