I've just made a proper install of ubuntu onto a dual boot partition of my harddrive. This will enable me to apply upgrades more easily.
So I've done that, and then run it (under acpi=off, since that's all I can do to prevent this problem), and fetched all the latest ubuntu updates for Karmic. This has brought the kernel version upto 2.6.31-20 (generic), however that does not fix my problem - I still have to run under acpi=off. Acpi=off makes the computer work well, and completely prevents this bug, but it seems to knock out certain functionality such as wireless internet and sound, so it's not a long-term solution for me. I would welcome any advice or suggestions. -- Ubuntu 9.10 Live CD hangs X soon after gnome is displayed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/512518 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
