This is still an issue w/ 8.04.4 LTS as it does not have this version of the driver in 2.6.24-27-server. As I have mentioned above, I have the work-around which was to manually compile the driver from the vendor and applied it to my system, this is opened to help others who may not be able to troubleshoot this issue and to get the correct driver back ported to 8.04 LTS.
