This problem still exists in Lucid Beta 2. I replicated this exactly on my Acer Aspire Revo R3600 - X crashes and causes a total system hang. I can boot from the Lucid live cd but only by using the "nomodeset xforcevesa" options...
Chewit: can you advise the workaround you used to get Lucid booting on your Revo? On a separate note (probably a papercut or another bug I guess), I find it slighly annoying that grub does not even get 1 second of screentime anymore and there is no visual queue that it can be made visible. I know we're trying to make Ubuntu boot quickly but this is not very useful when you have a system that won't boot. -- [Lucid] Xorg crashes when you plug in a monitor https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/538501 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
