I have the same issue with the release canditate. I tried installing with the alternate cd - which works, but even, as soon as X starts (tried it even over the console) the maschine breaks completely. (altough its still turned on - the fan keeps on spinning). The same issue is with the live cd - booting process works until the start of X - then it breaks. I tried searching and it's definitely not the backlight issue because the machine completely dies.

The broken pipe is almost immediately after the start of X. It worked until this release. It is also a 243LC. I will try other other live cds and see which one work and which ones do not. Only a hard reset works after it died. The messages.log doesn't tell anything either - only the normal boot process, there is no message at all when I try to start X. -- 10.04 live cd doesn't works in acer travelmate 243LC https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/541861 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
