This doesn't seem to be a supported Intel sound card in ALSA: http://www
.alsa-project.org/main/index.php/Matrix:Vendor-Intel

Nightbat: Can you please try changing the "options snd-hda-intel" line
in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf to include a "speaker_outs=" option as
follows:

options snd-hda-intel speaker_outs=0

Or:

options snd-hda-intel speaker_outs=1

And see if that has any affect?
