Dell D400 with 855GM The apparently related "checking battery state" bug introduced at the start of April caused me to reinstall Lucid from the beta release. Worked fine under kernel .19 up until last weekend when I updated (including kernel to .21) and now am experiencing the black screen. Luckily I could still boot from the .19 version in Grub and it works fine. Won't be updating again until this gets resolved in a release...
