Hi Jeremy, I've just tried to get the microscope working while running the latest release candidate of Ubuntu (10.04 RC) that I downloaded yesterday. But still no luck. No "/dev/video0" file created. I have not rerun the "apport-collect ..." command yet. Maybe it's not a good idea to test it while running a Live-DVD and not from an installed system from hard- disk. Anyway I did not want to risk damaging my currently installed Ubuntu 9.10.
As Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (stable) is already going to be released tomorrow or shortly, I will download that one, burn it and hopefully get it installed on a separate disk to make a REAL test of the microscope while running the latest Ubuntu from hard-disk. Then I should be able to provide you with detailed and current logs. Also the kernel-upstream testing can be done then.
