i can confirm this as well. turning audio off in bios dose stop this message. is this a kernel issue or is this a pulse audio problem. cause it seems this sound problem showed up for me when ubuntu went to pulse audio. and each version got worse on the sound issues. with 9.10 being the worst(now into 10.04)
