Sorry, I couldn't do that.
However, I found a work-around for the issue of my own jabber account
appearing in the buddy list (though not the webcam + microphone issue
mentioned above). I right-clicked and removed the contact (myself).
However, it would be useful for other users if they did not appear in
their own jabber lists at all (e.g. via automatic removal/hiding of that
contact if possible).

I see myself as a buddy (jabber/gtalk)

My own Jabber buddy icon appears in the contact list. It also appears with
microphone and webcam icon, when I have neither of these.
