Could you please attach /var/log/syslog and /var/log/partman to this
bug, following the directions in
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingUbiquity/AttachingLogs? Thanks in
advance. I have systems without /dev/hd* here, but can't reproduce this
problem on them; with any luck your logs will offer more clues.
