The two programmes used to connect, at least if you're using KPPP, in the different desktop environments are completely different, and so unfortunately can't share settings. Am I right in thinking this is a 3G modem, and does it work automatically in Gnome without any installing/tweaking or do you need to use a dialer like KPPP?
