Ok. Attempted the install tonight. It seemed to go fine, sans the broken keyboard, and it even successfully resized the existing NTFS partition. The problems now are showing up after the install. When I rebooted, the Ubuntu logo just hung there with the progress bar at zero - even after several attempts at unplugging extra mouse/keyboard I was using. I finally let it just sit there for about 5 minutes and it spit out lots of errors about ata_piix, missing modules, missing devices, and then dropped me down to a shell prompt. I suppose the next step is having you tell me how/which log files you'd like me to attach again. I'm not sure what I can do at this simple prompt it gives me, but I can boot back into the LiveCD again and do some logging. Just let me know.
