No, my cpu is only using 50% of its full power max, and it worked fine
on later versions of ubuntu. It doesn't matter if totem alone is running
or if i have 10 other things running, the problem doesn't change.
besides even with the difference in computing power between me and my
friend, the effect is no better or worse between us. and he isn't
exactly on the high end power-wise.

Besides we are not talking about a performance problem here. the mkv
(720p) video plays perfect except the sound stops playing temporarily.
There is nothing wrong with my files either, I ran the check sums.
