I have the same bug with Lucid LTS (no RC or Beta) 32 bit desktop. Installed yesterday,with external USB hd. Bus 001 Device 011: ID 05e3:0702 Genesys Logic, Inc. USB 2.0 IDE Adapter Please let me know what info do you need.
Before lucid I was in Slack 13 with kernel 2.6.33.1 and the hard disk was fine.
