I am seeing exactly the same thing. I haven't tried ~drm33v5 kernel yet. Bryce suggests I should open a new bug report, but I don't know what additional information I would put in it to get beyond "generic symptoms" - the bug is that the mouse cursor does not appear, just as reported. I can get the mouse cursor to appear by opening a konsole or yakuake window (and typing, sometimes).
