Just to eliminate the risk of some HW issues I downloaded the older 9.10 release and tried Live CD Everything works fine! sound, graphics, averything! Summary: my 8.10 works , 9.10 Live CD works, 10.04 Live CD throws crash detections and freezes the whole system.....
