Correction... I've narrowed it down. It only seems to happen when
gnome-panel is running.
xev reports:
FocusOut event, serial 29, synthetic NO, window 0x2000001,
mode NotifyGrab, detail NotifyAncestor
When I press 's'. Whatever window I'm in loses focus when I press "s"
or "m" and either the shutdown menu or the mail menu. When gnome-panel
is not running, I can see this inside xev's output:
KeyPress event, serial 31, synthetic NO, window 0x2000001,
root 0x2e, subw 0x0, time 1422778320, (118,85), root:(129,605),
state 0x0, keycode 39 (keysym 0x73, s), same_screen YES,
XLookupString gives 1 bytes: (73) "s"
XmbLookupString gives 1 bytes: (73) "s"
XFilterEvent returns: False
or
KeyRelease event, serial 31, synthetic NO, window 0x2000001,
root 0x2e, subw 0x0, time 1422840570, (72,73), root:(83,593),
state 0x0, keycode 58 (keysym 0x6d, m), same_screen YES,
XLookupString gives 1 bytes: (6d) "m"
XFilterEvent returns: False
I've tried adding maps with gconf-editor, I've tried all the options
above... no solution visible yet.
