Is this a BIOS problem? I also cannot get my machine to show the menu. I am on a USB keyboard, but I know for certain that my BIOS supports it. Holding down Shift (and even escape) actually makes my machine reboot itself. I have tried tapping shift in response, but the same outcome happens. Is there a workaround that can be used?
