Sorry for all the post. It kept hanging on me. Now I've bootet on the 2.6.31-10-rt (a real time kernel?), which was the only pre2.6.32 I could find in the repos (and I haven't got a clue as to compile a kernel). The 2.6.31-10-rt seems to be working fine in this respect though. At least I don't get the "phy0 -> rt2500pci_set_device_state: Error - Device failed to enter state 1 (-16)"- error any more. By the way my hardware is an Asus wl-107g which has been working flawlessly on linux until kernel 2.6.32.
