Dear Jeremy, I am sorry but I am not that good in linux specifically kernel compilation,etc. Also I have installed eeepc utililty to bring the unit to power save mode just to bring down the heat at the expense of speed. Sorry to say but this issue is a show stopper for me. Overheating issues with ubuntu had been around and I saw a similar bug filed last January. It should have been resolved by now.
