Hallo,

excuse me for my english.

I wanted to boot Lucid 10.4 desktop 64bit from an USB-Stick which was
created with unetbootwin under windows XP.

It starts with booting, until a pink screen appears, with "UBUNTU". Then
there was a Welcome Sound and thats it.

The pink screen did not change, it remains.

I do not know, how to continue.

My Notebook is a MSI VR705 with Chipset: MCP79 Host Bridge and Graphics:
NVIDIA MCP79MVL

I found a solution, but this is not advisable:

I installed the Lucid 10.4 on an other PC (HP, old, but 64 bit). Very easily.
Then i made an Image under Windows XP with the programm Acronis True Image 8.
This image was played back to my Ubuntu-Partition on My MSI Notebook.

(Grub has to be adapted by the way).

An I startet Ubuntu in a restricted (or similar) Mode. (on my MSI NB)
It runs with a simple graphic-mode.
Then I added the Drivers with Ubuntu-System-Controls - Hardware-Drivers -
Nvidia recommended, (similar)

After a reboot, all ist ok. Most - Somethimes it starts with lwo
lwvel graphics, and I had to install the Nvidia-Driver once more.

But this ist not a real solution.

There must be a quite feasible solution while installing.

Thanks.
