Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem

Opening a video file that's apparently and XVID MPEG4 encoded mediafile,
won't play in Lucid, with all gstreamer plugins installed. It says the
codec is missing and the codec search doesn't return any findings. "no
packages with the requested plugins found: XVID MPEG-4 decoder"

but I have every gstreamer plugin set known to man installed. what am I
doing wrong? I know VLC plays everything, but sometimes it's nice to
just being able to double click a file and play it, I mean I had it
working in karmic, so there must be a way of fixing this :) ideas?
