Added to /etc/apt/sources.list deb http://nl.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid-proposed restricted main multiverse universe and performed apt-get -t lucid-proposed update apt-get -t lucid-proposed upgrade It showed acpid as one of the upgrades.
