I am facing same problem with CD/DVD.
If I place an working DVD movie) in DVD tray and close, system is not being
able to identify and mount it.
# sudo ls -l /dvd/{cdrom,dvd}*
This returns nothing
If I place a blank DVD at the time of booting, udev somehow mounts the DVD
after throwing lot of error. I can see /dev/sr0. Disk Utility reports the DVD
drive correctly as:
HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T20N
But if I place a DVD with content then system does not detect the drive.
/dev/sr0 does not show up under Disk Utility.
I am using udev ver 151.12.
dmesg and fstab is attached. Let me know what else do you need and how
to get those diagnostic files.
I have AMD64 Alternate ISO installed. I have tested the beta 2 of the
same and the DVD drive was working fine. It was working fine under
Karmic AMD64 as well.
