I assume by my LP username, you mean my Launchpad username. Is that not obvious from the name and link attached to the above comments? (maybe I'm being stupid here and you are referring to a completely different piece of info)

I started on Karmic, then inserted the Lucid CD and told the installer to completely erase the HD and install Lucid. To add my computer to the cloud, I used the button in the very top right of the screen (stand-by type button) and selected "Ubuntu One..." from the menu. When I did this, the preferences dialog opened, and from here I clicked 'Manage account'. Basically, I added the computer in the normal way, through the Ubuntu One prefs dialog.
