I did as you asked. Twice! :o)

The first time I started U1 Client, nothing seemed to happen. Although today
it did authenticate the computer (I have never understood why the U1 Client and
Tomboy need separate registrations).
U1 Client said it was connected after a left-click.
I created content locally and uploaded content via the web. Nothing.
I opened Nautilus and tried to force the "Ubuntu One" to connect, nothing.
I left it for a while. Nothing.

I then stopped and started it again. Nothing.
I tried to get Nautilus to connect "Ubuntu One" again and nothing seemed to
happen. But the tool-top on U1 Client did briefly change to "Connecting".
After a minute or two I noticed that it also said "Updating 1 of 5 files" after
a left click.
Files seemed to upload OK for a while (none downloaded) but then stalled
("Connection lost") appeared in the logs, but my net connection remained fine
as far as I am aware.
U1 Client said it was connected after a left-click.
I tried to connect again a few times from Nautilus, but nothing happened.
I closed down and zipped the logs.
