For what it's worth, this bug has been in there for a *long* time... I ran into it initially trying to install the beta of... maybe Hardy?... in text mode on a Thinkpad X30, and forgot about the issue amidst some of the other stuff I ran into. It's apparently still there in Lucid. In my case, I get video, but it flickers badly, has black squares in diagonal lines, and is shifted vertically.
If I remember correctly, it's Hardy that broke it, and Gutsy worked. But I won't swear to that. (I am, however, almost positive that it was the same release for which the i8xx driver went away to be replaced by the i9xx driver - and the video driver has never worked quite right since. Here's hoping for Lucid.) Should anyone else run into this, the fix^H^H^Hworkaround is to add "intelfb.blacklist=1" to the installer's command line. -- VT Consoles 1-6 only display a flickering screen with vga16fb https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/539582 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
