Hey guys,

Just a quick heads up.

I upgraded to ubuntu 10.04 last week and used the same laptop-eapd
workaround for sound. Everything was going fine. Until I opened up the
sound preferences and noticed there was still some room on the volume
slider to increase the volume. So I cranked it up. A few min went by
before I heard an electronic feedback sound and then nothing. Nothing in
windows either. Although I still get sound from the headphone jack.

I think what happened is the sound card got fried from using the wrong
settings. So be careful.
