Hi, I've had something similar with the CD build of March 21st. I thought it was a bad cd or something, so I proceeded to burn Herd 5, install and then dist-upgrade. Herd 5 was OK, but current is not.
Although I don't currently suffer from Jason's artifacts, I see some noise, in form of moving thin (~5 px) long (~400px) black lines. I suspect this is related to X.org and wrong Hsync detection of my monitor, since the lines don't appear on uniform background or when taking a screenshot. System: Dell Inspiron 8600 w/ P-M and an ATi Mobility 9600. 1280*800 wide 15.4 LCD Free r300 driver (default x.org, not customised yet) Dist-upgraded Feisty at 18:30 UTC. PS: This system has been working OK since warty, and also in Arch and WinXP -- horizontal lines on desktop https://launchpad.net/bugs/94411 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
