You are right.
It's hard to know the purpose of that text field. I tried and it sent a message
to identi.ca, so I guess it sends the message to all accounts.
It would be nice to add a label to it, saying "what's up elopio?" as identi.ca
does :)
Or a button with a label that says "send" or "broadcast".
I'll change the tittle of the issue.
