Those sound like they would be better in restricted, which is *supported* non-free. If those firmware elements are essential for making it work, we should support them. This is a matter of policy since day 0, regardless of our personal preferences. Binary drivers and firmware are OK in restricted, and *should* be there unless agreed otherwise, with me if necessary.
