This is just to confirm the bug from another person. I have seen the same issue and the workaround works for me. I'm running ILO firmware 1.89. The box I was using is a bl20p (blade server) and ILO is the only console available, so I was pretty lost until I found this bug report :)
Also, just as an aside, I tried CentOS 5 beta on the same system and it didn't have the problem, so it may be something that can be compared between boot systems or it may be fixed in a different kernel version.
