Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: acpi

I have installed ubuntu 10.04 AMD64 on my Sony Vaio VPCEB1M1E/BJ notebook.
My video device is Ati Radeon Mobility HD5650 1GB.
When I press Fn + F5/F6 brightness bar appears but the screen brightness does
not change. If I try to change it by the brightness of ATI software is not
changed. Even if I try to change the power management panel funziona.Quando not
use the notebook with battery power it works only at full brightness while
consuming much battery.
I installed the ATI proprietary drivers with the automated tool of ubuntu
(Hardware drivers).

If I uninstall the ATI proprietary drivers leaving those open, changing
the brightness work by the panel of management, but still does not work
the Fn + F5 and Fn + F6.

** Affects: acpi (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
