The locales also include things like currency, decimals and thousands 
separators, paper sizes, and other stuff that depends on the region and not on 
the language.
I think that the locale you are referring to is this:

You can check this issue (

that's where I think the locale was committed. 
If you have more doubts, perhaps you can ask Martin Pitti (
