Yesterday Gnome 2.28.2 (same version of Karmic, and older than Lucid)
was available on Gentoo. I emerged it, and Trash works as expected
there. So, as I supposed, this is not Gnome's fault. I hope now this
should be clear enough: please, fix this on Ubuntu!!!!
