Thanks for the replies. Pedro, could you please tell me exactly how to check /var/crash. I enabled Apport using "ubuntu-bug gnome-media". It was ready to file a report (just as it did when I reported the original bug), I performed the things that causes the bluetooth indicator to vanish, and when I checked under /var/crash, it was empty.
