Public bug reported:

Framebuffer support is not working properly if you want to run verbose
and not use any splash.

I only have LXDE installed and I have tried every options that you can
find on the internet with no success. I'm also using the X radeon
driver. My card is a ATI 3200HD.

Changing option after option in /etc/defaults/grub then in /etc/grub.d

Blacklisting vga16fb, blacklisting vesafb, blacklisting radeonfb and
then commenting them out as well and adding them into /etc/modules.

In short I've tried everything imaginable and nothing works.

This was the closest I got:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="nomodeset  video=radeonfb:mode_option=1024x768-8
mtrr=3,scroll=ywrap"
GRUB_GFXMODE=1024x768
GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX=1024x768

/etc/modules
radeonfb

What happens is I get some verbose in 1024x768, then the screen goes blank,
then text pops back in, then blank again, then text appears again, then I get
the login screen.

I can't get one continual stream of console text it keeps appearing and
disappearing during the bootup process.
