Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: synaptic
Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a file in /etc/apt/preferences.d/ and define some pins there
2. Launch Synaptic
3. Navigate to some packages you pinned in 1.
What happens:
Synaptic acts, as if no pins were defined in 1., disregards them when
updating/installing packages.
What should happen:
Synaptic should honor pins in /etc/apt/preferences.d/
Additional info:
If you define pins the file /etc/apt/preferences, Synaptic honors them.
