Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: network-manager

Summary:
* Sony Ericsson PC300 data card is detected only once
* Ejecting card does not remove kernel modules
* Wiered network manager info while ejecting card:
  "NetworkManager: <info> Unmanaged Device found; state CONNECTED forced. (see
http://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/191889)"
* Data card is not detected any more after ejecting

Card details:
  0fce:d0b2 Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB "Sony Ericsson PC300"

Step #1: Insert card
====================
After booting Ubuntu the data card is inserted.
These additional modules are loaded
  cdc_ether               3541  0
  usbnet                 14943  1 cdc_ether
  mii                     4381  1 usbnet
  cdc_wdm                 8250  0
  cdc_acm                13854  0
and yenta_socket changes from 1 to 2 "used by" without naming the modules or
processes:
  yenta_socket           20536  2

Step #2: Eject card
===================
Ejecting the unused data card gives:
1. udevadm monitor removes devices
2. network manager states "state CONNECTED forced"
3. modules are not removed, they stay the same

Step #3: Insert card again
==========================
Re-inserting and ejecting the data card multiple times does not do anything:
1. udevadm monitor does nothing
2. network manager does nothing
3. pccardctl status does not show a device - regardless if inserted or ejected

Step #4: remove additional modules
==================================
Removing the additional loaded modules
  sudo rmmod cdc_ether cdc_wdm cdc_adm
  sudo rmmod usbnet
  sudo rmmod mii
does not help either:
  1. card isn't detected
  2. yenta_socket stays in "used by 2" anonymous modules/processes.

Appended log files:
 1. Network manager log of complete session
 2. Modem manager log of complete session
 3. udevadm monitor output of complete session

Kind regards,
Thorsten
