Hi there: I have this same problem, and the ctrl f2 workaround works for me...
However, I havent seen any change after having downloaded deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/gilir/updates/ubuntu lucid main deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/gilir/updates/ubuntu lucid main to my sources...
