Could you please reproduce with the command:
LANG=C dpkg -D111 -i /var/cache/apt/archives/kvm-pxe_5.4.4-1ubuntu1.1_all.deb
2>&1 | tee /tmp/dpkg-i_kvm-pxe.log
and attach the resulting log file ?
